Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade(s): 10-11 ($33.29+ DOE/Hourly)

Purpose: The Special Projects Coordinator will actively work on projects as assigned. Incumbent will coordinate daily operations and administrative functions including personnel issues, hiring and orientations, and communicate with other agencies and departments.


Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without
reasonable accommodation:
• Interpret program guidelines, statutes, agency policies and procedures, and apply in situations of moderate
complexity with minimal supervision.
• Assist in developing program procedures and training related to the project.
• Approve, process, and maintain accurate and confidential records.
• Audit applications for accuracy and completeness.
• Oversee the ordering of a large volume of supplies.
• Coordinate ship supplies to to SE communities.
• Develop training resources and train staff.
• Compile statistical and narrative reports in a timely manner.
• In collaberation with Human Resources and TFS Director, will assist with hiring, monitoring, coaching, staff
development, evaluations, dispute resolution and progressive discipline. Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities. A comprehensive set of capabilities required to perform job tasks effectively:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex information.
• Ability to manage priorities with limited information.
• Ability to defuse emotionally charged situations in a respectful manner.
• Ability to maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records.
• Working knowledge of Tlingit & Haida programs, applications, and requirements.
• Familiarity with Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimpshian cultures.


Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
• Associate degree in business, Social Sciences, or closely related field.
• Two (2) years’ related experience.
• Two (2) years’ supervisory experience.
• Substitution for degree: High School Diploma and four years’ related experience.

• The majority of work requires movement to include walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing items up to 40 lbs.

employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:
• Travel on small aircraft or ferry may be required.
• Certain positions at Tlingit & Haida may have exposure to certain hazardous materials or conditions. The
supervisor will review these if applicable.
