Catering & Courier Driver

PURPOSE

Driver will provide delivery services specifically related to the Tribe’s catering and courier operations. The Incumbent will deliver food and beverage products and internal parcels for the Tribe’s catering and courier services. Incumbent will be responsible for keeping the delivery vehicle clean and recording use and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Deliver food and/or parcels for Catering and Courier services

• Keep accurate records of deliveries and customer authorization

• Ensure all documentation is submitted to management in a timely manner

• Use and maintain delivery equipment

• Drive safely and follow all laws and rules of driving

• Keep company vehicle clean, well-maintained, fueled, and ready to drive

• Communicate with customers by phone to keep them abreast of delivery times as necessary

• Communicate change of delivery schedule to management

• Maintain and promote a positive professional working relationship with staff and clients

• Practice strong customer service skills at all times

• Maintain a mileage and maintenance log

• Perform additional duties as required

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay positive under pressure

• Ability to understand and comply with verbal directions

• Ability to work in a team environment

• Knowledge of health and safety standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Current and clean Alaska Driver’s License

• Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Card

• Ability to do light maintenance and perform safety checks on vehicles

• Six months of delivery experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)

• One year experience as a delivery driver

• One year experience as a courier

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS

The majority of work is performed is generally active, requiring routine walking, standing, bending and carrying of items up to 50 lbs. May have to lift heavy products or parcels. The majority of the work performed delivering of food and packages and receiving items for our courier service.
