Program Compliance Specialist I/II


INFORMATION
Department: Program Compliance

Type of Position: Exempt
Location of Work: Juneau, AK
Salary Grade(s): 8/9
Hours of Work: M-F, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Employment Category: Regular, Full-Time

PURPOSE
Program Compliance Specialist will be responsible for working collaboratively with the Program Compliance Department staff. Primary duties will be working with Tribal Enrollment, Tribal Photo Identification Cards and Employee Photo Identification Cards.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports To: Department Manager
Supervises: N/A
Liaison To: N/A

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Greet Tribal Citizens and Tribal Employees in a professional manner.
• Assure accuracy in the production of Enrollment and both Tribal and Employee Identification Cards.
• Process all Program Compliance requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain both hard and electronic files of enrollment records.
• Correct data errors of tribal citizen enrollment records from hard file to electronic file.
• Review tribal citizen paper files for completeness and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently.

NECESSARY SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Understanding of Tribal Enrollment, scanning and document preservation, document management software, and the workflow management system.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage duties efficiently and within established timeframes.
• Ability to work collaboratively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently without supervision.
• Exhibit working knowledge of administering an electronic document management system.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
• Associate degree in Database Management or Administrative Assistant.
• Two years Technician level in tribal enrollment for four years’ experience in tribal enrollment or related field
Substitution for associate degree::
? High school diploma
? Four years’ experience in Records Management or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (education, experience, skills)
• Four years’ experience in Tribal Enrollment or related field.
• Working with databases (data management system, Excel, etc.).

UNUSUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OR RESTRICTIONS
The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting and is generally sedentary. This position will require routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying of items weighing less than 40 lbs. Travel on an aircraft or ferry may be required.
