Café Supervisor
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade(s): 6-7 ($22.74+ DOE)
Purpose: The Café Supervisor manages daily operations to ensure a high-quality customer experience, efficient service, and financial performance. This role involves overseeing staff, handling financial reporting, and maintaining operational standards.
Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Develop and execute sales strategies to meet budget goals.
- Use financial reporting tools for daily, weekly, and monthly updates.
- Handle all cash functions accurately.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage schedules.
- Conduct staff training, performance reviews, ongoing coaching, and address staff performance and disciplinary issues.
- Supervise front-of-house operations including customer service, food and beverage preparation, and merchandising.
- Assist the Inventory Specialist with inventory management.
- Contribute ideas to improve operational flow and maintain standards for customer service, beverage preparation, and in-store marketing.
- Uphold and promote high customer service standards.
- Be responsive to customer needs and handle complaints with professionalism and tact.
- Proactively solve problems and make decisions benefiting the facility.
- Ensure adherence to Alaska Food Safety and Sanitation regulations.
- Manage social media posting with approval from Hospitality team.
- Be available for on-call situations to resolve issues or fill in as needed.
- Foster a professional, friendly, and efficient work environment.
- Work special events as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
- Two (2) years’ experience in management role, specialty coffee industry, and/or front of the house restaurant experience.
- Register and cash handling experience.
- Point of sales (POS) experience.
Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills):
- Food Protection Manager Certificate.
- Food Handlers Card.
- Two (2) or more years as a barista.
- Successful completion of recognized barista training certification.
